Freelance Data Scientist / AI Engineer

About the role

Nose, a Paris‑based fragrance company, is seeking a freelance Data Scientist / AI Engineer to expand and maintain its data and AI ecosystem. You will work on recommendation engines, perfume diagnostics, analytics tools, and AI‑driven customer experiences, helping turn prototypes into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Structure and optimise analytical databases and SQL queries.
• Build, evaluate and improve recommendation and predictive models.
• Develop AI‑driven features, internal tooling and production‑ready code.
• Create and maintain dashboards and business reporting using Looker Studio or similar.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to align data solutions with business goals.
• Maintain and evolve existing codebase and data architecture.
• Assist in moving prototypes to production environments.

Required profile

• Strong autonomy and ability to work in a fast‑moving environment.
• Good communication skills and business understanding.
• Pragmatic, execution‑oriented mindset with curiosity for AI and emerging technologies.

Required skills

• SQL (strong proficiency).
• Python (pandas, numpy, APIs, data processing).
• ETL pipeline development.
• BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform.
• Looker Studio or equivalent BI tools.
• Understanding of production constraints and maintainable code.
• Docker, CI/CD and deployment experience.
• Experience with recommendation systems, machine learning and forecasting.
• Familiarity with LLMs, OpenAI/Anthropic/Mistral APIs, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases.
• Knowledge of LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or similar frameworks.
