Associate General Counsel, Litigation

About the role

InterDigital is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Litigation to join its global legal team. The role will be based in Europe/UK (or a remote location) and will involve both domestic and international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement InterDigital’s global intellectual property litigation strategy.
• Oversee worldwide litigation, including enforcement of Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) and FRAND-related matters.
• Defend the company against IP, antitrust, commercial, and other third‑party litigation worldwide.
• Manage and direct external counsel providing support for patent infringement cases, especially in German Regional Courts and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
• Collaborate with internal experts and senior executives to align litigation activities with business objectives.

Required profile

• Significant experience handling patent infringement cases in German Regional Courts and the UPC.
• Proven ability to design and execute global IP litigation strategies.
• Experience evaluating internal and external litigation resources and implementing improvements.
• Strong communication skills with senior management and external partners.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
