Accountant – Accounts Payable (France)

About the role

The Accountant will join the European Finance team, reporting to the European Finance Manager. The primary focus is on end‑to‑end accounts payable processes for France, ensuring timely invoice processing, accurate record‑keeping, and effective liaison with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Create purchase orders and match them with supplier invoices (AP voucher).
• Code, post, and pay supplier invoices, including new vendor set‑up.
• Process employee expense notes, company car and mobile fleet payments.
• Post cash entries for vendors, customers and other transactions; produce weekly cash forecasts.
• Run weekly AP payment cycles and manage weekly/monthly reporting.
• Revalue foreign‑currency bank accounts, perform bank reconciliations, and reconcile prepaid and accrued expenses.
• Allocate G&A costs and prepare monthly reporting files for internal use.
• Assist the Controlling team with variance analysis and support year‑end audit activities.
• Maintain internal controls, improve processes, and handle statistical surveys (INSEE/ Banque de France).

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of accounts payable experience.
• Diploma or degree in accounting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, professional attitude and reliability.
• Excellent organization and time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Fluent in both French and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Financial Force or similar AP systems.
• Knowledge of accounts payable procedures, chart of accounts and corporate finance policies.
