Senior Legal/Compliance Counsel – 3-6 month contract

About the role

KorumLegal is supporting a global technology client in France with a senior legal/compliance counsel on a 3‑6 month contract. The position is business‑facing, covering France and the French‑speaking Benelux region, and sits within the client’s global legal function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mid‑to‑senior level legal support on compliance and regulatory matters for France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
• Lead local and global compliance programmes, including anti‑corruption, ethics and data‑privacy initiatives.
• Advise internal stakeholders across functions as a trusted legal advisor on complex issues.
• Handle core corporate law work such as intragroup restructuring and company‑structure advice in coordination with tax teams.
• Support regional innovation centres, primarily in France, with pragmatic, commercial legal advice.
• Manage local litigation and disputes together with the global litigation team.
• Collaborate with specialist legal teams on broader ethics, compliance and regulatory projects.
• Lead cross‑functional and cross‑border initiatives, managing matters of varying complexity and urgency.

Required profile

• French‑qualified lawyer with more than 10 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong expertise in compliance law, especially anti‑corruption frameworks such as Loi Sapin II.
• Native‑level French and fluency in English.
• Proven experience in corporate law, compliance, and general business law.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time‑management abilities.
• Demonstrated project and programme management skills.
• Collaborative, adaptable mindset and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
