Software Engineer - Banking Experience Team (backend TypeScript)

About the role

Swan, Europe’s embedded banking specialist, is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Banking Experience team. You will own one or more projects, design bank‑by‑API solutions with the product team, improve system performance under growing load, and ensure compliance with architecture rules and automated testing.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for one or more backend projects.
• Solve complex problems in a regulated, high‑demand IT domain using reactive architecture.
• Design bank‑by‑API features together with the product team.
• Boost performance of systems handling rapidly increasing traffic.
• Maintain architecture standards and automated test coverage.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience, strong back‑end focus and proficiency in TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of backend optimisation (performance, observability, SQL query tuning).
• Hands‑on experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and micro‑service architectures.
• Continuous learner who follows tech trends through newsletters, conferences or meetups.
• Fluent English, passion for functional programming or open‑source, and a collaborative mindset.
