Financial Controller

About the role

Bitstack is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function as the company expands its product portfolio and European footprint. This hands‑on position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with the leadership team and co‑founders, playing a key role in preparing for the first external audit and upcoming Series B fundraising.

Key responsibilities

• Lead French statutory accounting, managing monthly and annual closes and transitioning to a monthly close cadence.
• Oversee relationships with the external accounting firm and, from 2027, the appointed statutory auditor.
• Direct tax compliance across corporate income tax, VAT (including reverse‑charge on non‑EU services) and other applicable taxes in coordination with a specialist tax advisor.
• Design and own accounting policies, including revenue recognition for subscription and card‑interchange streams, accruals, intercompany transactions and FX treatment.
• Build and maintain the bad‑debt provisioning and collections framework for the subscription business.
• Develop reconciliation workflows between Cryptio (crypto sub‑ledger), the subscription billing platform and banking data.

Required profile

• Proven experience in French statutory accounting and external audit preparation.
• Strong knowledge of French tax regulations, including corporate tax and VAT.
• Hands‑on experience with revenue recognition for subscription‑based and card‑interchange models.
• Ability to design accounting policies and controls autonomously.
• Comfort working directly with senior leadership and making consequential decisions.
