Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot

About the role

As a Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot at Harmattan AI, you will be the backbone of our flight operations, ensuring that our autonomous drone fleet is always airworthy, up‑to‑date, and ready for rapid deployment. You will work closely with engineers in both the validation lab and field campaigns, combining hands‑on maintenance with real‑time piloting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on drones, including soldering, mechanical assembly, and part replacement.
• Pilot multi‑rotor or fixed‑wing UAVs during test campaigns and act as the safety operator.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, batteries, and field equipment, and coordinate transport for field testing.
• Execute standardized test protocols, complete checklists, and report results to the engineering team.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and fully stocked workshop and validation lab.

Required profile

• Technical degree or equivalent experience in electronics, mechanics, or RC modeling.
• Excellent manual dexterity for soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
• Strong organizational and safety‑conscious mindset.
• Experience piloting multi‑rotor or fixed‑wing UAVs; certification is a plus.
• Willingness to travel for field testing.
