Data Protection Officer – GDPR, Audit & Cyber Security (English/French)

About the role

Our client, an innovative fintech bank, is looking for a Data Protection Officer to lead GDPR compliance, conduct security audits and act as the main liaison with European data protection authorities. The role combines privacy governance, audit expertise and cyber‑security knowledge while delivering training across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement a privacy governance framework and develop templates for data collection, data‑mapping and vendor‑management reviews.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess projects for GDPR compliance and complete privacy impact assessments.
• Serve as the primary contact for European Data Protection Authorities and internal queries on data‑privacy matters.
• Review vendor contracts, including Model Clauses, and ensure filing requirements with local regulators are met.
• Monitor changes to local privacy laws and advise the Data Privacy / Information Governance Committee.
• Set global standards, develop and deliver privacy training, and coordinate privacy audits.
• Work with the Information Security team to raise employee awareness of data‑privacy and security issues.

Required profile

• Graduate level education with fluency in English and French.
• Minimum two years of experience in data protection, including audit work and knowledge of handling cyber‑security incidents.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and related European privacy regulations.
• IT background is valuable; computer science or information‑security qualifications are a plus.
• Willingness to work onsite in La Défense with occasional travel to Cyprus or New York.
