Chemicals Buyer – Procurement for Airbus

About the role

Airbus is looking for a strategic Chemicals Buyer to lead the end‑to‑end procurement of sealants and related chemicals across its commercial programmes. You will work in a highly regulated environment, balancing environmental constraints with operational needs while driving cost optimisation and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle for the sealant portfolio, including market intelligence, tendering, and contract execution.
• Lead cross‑functional, multi‑divisional teams throughout the tendering and contract life‑cycle.
• Build and maintain long‑term strategic relationships with suppliers.
• Identify and mitigate risks such as single‑source dependency, obsolescence, and compliance with REACH and other environmental regulations.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with an open mindset, able to challenge and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading complex projects in an international setting.
• Strong understanding of aerospace material procurement and environmental constraints.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
