Automation Engineer – Digital & AI Operations (France)

About the role

The Automation Engineer for France will own the functional governance of the MCIM tool used to manage operational activities across DATA4 sites. The role drives process optimisation, digitalisation and AI adoption to boost efficiency and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify low‑value activities, map processes and lead automation initiatives, delivering automated workflows between information systems.
• Define and monitor AI use cases, integrate generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, and assess new AI technologies for maintenance and document management.
• Develop a digital and AI culture, train operational teams, and run awareness workshops and training sessions.
• Act as the primary functional contact for MCIM users, support day‑to‑day usage, onboard new users and ensure autonomous operation.
• Maintain data quality, monitor compliance with usage standards, and conduct regular data quality reviews.
• Gather business requirements, translate them into functional improvements, and contribute to the digital and AI roadmap for Operations France.
• Define and track adoption and productivity indicators, produce regular maturity reports and quantify operational gains.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in engineering, maintenance, operations, Facility Management or information systems.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a critical operational environment or data centre.
• Proven experience with operational management tools (CMMS, EAM, ERP or similar digital platforms).
• Background in digital transformation, automation or continuous‑improvement projects.
• Knowledge of generative AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) is a plus.
• Professional proficiency in English.
