Technical Consultant – Super Pollutants, NDC 3.0 & MRV (Dominican Republic)

About the role

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) seeks a Technical Consultant to lead the design and implementation of robust monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) systems for short‑lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) in the Dominican Republic. This 12‑month contract will support the country’s NDC 3.0 ambition by delivering high‑quality data on methane (CH4) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and ensuring alignment with international reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage transparent MRV frameworks for greenhouse gases (GHGs) and SLCPs, focusing on CH4 and HFCs.
• Ensure rigorous data collection, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and timely reporting to support national planning and international obligations.
• Collaborate with Dominican Republic ministries, UN agencies and CCAC partners to integrate MRV outputs into the NDC 3.0 mitigation package.
• Provide technical guidance on indicator design, data validation and co‑benefit tracking.
• Prepare concise reports and presentations for policymakers and international stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in environmental science, climate policy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in MRV system design and implementation for GHGs and SLCPs.
• Strong understanding of NDC processes, especially climate‑air integration.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with ability to work across government and multilateral contexts.
