Software Engineer – Payments (Scala & TypeScript)

About the role

Swan is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Payment team, building core banking APIs and high‑performance payment services. You will own one or more projects, working in a regulated environment with a focus on simplicity, security and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of payment‑related projects from design to delivery.
• Design and implement bank‑by‑API solutions together with product teams.
• Improve system performance under rapidly growing load.
• Ensure compliance with architecture guidelines and maintain automated test coverage.
• Work with a reactive architecture in a demanding IT domain.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a software developer with strong back‑end expertise.
• Proficiency in Scala and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of performance optimisation, observability and SQL query tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, automated testing and micro‑service architectures.
• Continuous learner who follows technology trends and communicates in fluent English.
