Regulatory Operations Lead

About the role

Merge is a regulated stable‑coin payments infrastructure platform that enables enterprises to move money globally in real time. We are looking for a Regulatory Operations Lead to own and coordinate our regulatory and licensing activities across multiple jurisdictions, working directly with the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the day‑to‑day liaison with regulators for Merge’s licenses in France and other jurisdictions.
• Track and manage regulatory filings, reporting obligations, and supervisory correspondence against strict deadlines.
• Advise on regulatory implications of new products, corridors, and partnerships.
• Drive the multi‑jurisdiction licensing roadmap as the company expands into new markets.
• Evaluate build‑vs‑acquire approaches for new licenses and make recommendations.
• Build and maintain relationships with local counsel, regulators, and licensing partners.
• Negotiate and draft agreements with enterprise clients, banks, and infrastructure partners.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (product, compliance, business development) to ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into operations.
• Maintain operational processes, trackers, and calendars to keep licensing work on schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing regulatory relationships and licensing in fintech or financial services.
• Strong understanding of compliance, legal, and commercial workstreams.
• Ability to coordinate across product, compliance, and business development teams.
• Excellent risk assessment and advisory skills for leadership.
