National Data Expert – Liberia

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a National Data Expert to support the NDC Act & Invest Initiative in Liberia. This short‑term consultancy will provide a robust, verifiable evidence base to underpin the country’s climate‑finance planning and NDC investment roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a source‑referenced partner mapping matrix of NDC support in Liberia.
• Produce technical documentation of an inclusive consultation process, including participation records.
• Validate and compile a climate‑finance evidence base for the Updated NDC Investment Plan.
• Document national validation workshops and provide technical inputs to the EPA, MFDP and sectoral focal points.
• Support draft review and final endorsement of both the NDC Investment Plan and related climate strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in climate‑finance, NDC processes, and data‑driven policy analysis.
• Strong background in stakeholder consultation and producing technical documentation.
• Familiarity with UN and multilateral development finance frameworks.
• Ability to work on‑site in Monrovia for the project duration.
