Head of AIV/AIT & Industrialisation

About the role

ClearSpace is looking for a senior leader to own the Assembly, Integration, Verification & Test (AIV/AIT) strategy and industrialisation roadmap. Reporting to the CTO, you will drive the transition from low‑TRL breadboards to repeatable flight‑ready production while ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Embed AIV/AIT early in development, shaping architectures and running rapid breadboard test campaigns.
• Define and evolve the AIV/AIT and industrialisation roadmap, setting targets for cost, quality, lead time and production rate.
• Build, lead and develop a multidisciplinary AIV/AIT team across industrialisation, production and support functions.
• Oversee spacecraft and payload assembly, integration, verification and test campaigns, ensuring compliance with ECSS, EN9100 and ISO 9001.
• Manage environmental test campaigns (TVAC, vibration, acoustic, shock, EMC/EMI) from planning through execution and anomaly resolution.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree or Chartered Engineer status advantageous).
• 10+ years of end‑to‑end AIV/AIT experience in the space industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of ramping up a space production line from prototype to series flight production.
• Strong knowledge of ECSS, EN9100 and ISO 9001 standards and experience managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets.

Required skills

• AIV/AIT processes and early‑stage low‑TRL test campaigns.
• Environmental testing methods: thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustic, shock, EMC/EMI.
• Standards: ECSS‑E‑ST‑10‑03, MIL‑STD‑1540, EN9100, ISO 9001.
• Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, DFMA, PFMEA, QRQC, 8D methodologies.
• Industrialisation and process standardisation, including CAPEX/OPEX budgeting.
