Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer will own the end‑to‑end real‑time audio processing pipeline for tactical radio and voice channels, working directly with military and police units in operational environments. The role involves deploying AI‑powered audio solutions on‑premise, offline, and iterating based on user feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain audio preprocessing, voice activity detection and diarisation pipelines for degraded, noisy signals.
• Create benchmarks and fine‑tune models for military/police domains and specific unit workflows.
• Develop bespoke audio streaming systems that bridge analog radio, VoIP, chat, email and phones.
• Deploy and support software in air‑gapped, resource‑constrained environments with no internet connectivity.
• Integrate solutions with existing Battlefield Management and Command‑and‑Control systems via APIs.
• Collaborate on‑site with French special forces, Ukrainian officers and other European armed forces to gather requirements and iterate on the product.

Required profile

• EU citizenship with the right to work on defence projects.
• Professional proficiency in English and French (French required for customer interaction).
• Experience building real‑time or low‑latency software systems in production.
• Hands‑on experience with audio processing, streaming or voice technologies.
• Ability to work on‑site in Paris or Warsaw and operate in high‑stakes, ambiguous environments.

Required skills

• On‑prem, air‑gapped deployment and maintenance.
• Integration with analog radio, VoIP, chat, email and phone systems.
• Knowledge of Battlefield Management and Command‑and‑Control system APIs.
• Familiarity with sovereign cloud infrastructures (Bleu, S3NS, Delos, SAP/Deutsche Telekom).
