Data Privacy Intern

About the role

Join Sonio’s Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance (RAQA) team as a Data Privacy Intern. You will support the development and monitoring of procedures that keep health information secure and help bring an AI‑driven medical device to market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist management in strategic planning of information privacy and security policies and procedures.
• Perform Data Privacy Impact Assessments and maintain the register of processing activities.
• Review service and business contracts for compliance with personal data processing requirements.
• Participate in compliance projects to meet GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulatory obligations.
• Partner with the security team to enhance and implement privacy and security policies, processes, and workforce training.
• Assess ethics and compliance risks, implement localized controls, and resolve compliance‑related issues.
• Disseminate privacy information, raise awareness, and conduct training for staff handling electronic protected health information (ePHI).

Required profile

• Motivated to learn about medical device development and regulatory affairs.
• Strong interest in data protection, privacy, and security within a healthcare context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with RAQA and security teams.

Required skills

• Understanding of GDPR and HIPAA requirements.
