Data Engineer - Manager / Specialist

About the role

Publicis Sapient, a technology company that builds its own enterprise AI platforms and services, is looking for a Data Engineer manager or specialist in Paris. The role leads a team and creates technology products that improve people's experiences, combining deep technical expertise with a strong track record of delivery and experience building and leading high-performance engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and data storage solutions
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Work with big data technologies and distributed systems to process large datasets
• Collaborate with data modelers, data scientists and solution architects on efficient data flows and storage
• Partner with data scientists and analysts to deliver clean, well-structured data
• Coordinate with integration teams and data source owners for data ingestion
• Automate provisioning, deployments and environment management
• Create and support APIs and data services for internal and external consumers
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, data quality and governance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Strong teamwork, communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience with ETL/ELT design and implementation

Required skills

• Familiarity with big data ecosystems such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka and Flink
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery and Synapse
• Programming in Python and/or Java
• Solid SQL knowledge and experience with relational and non-relational databases
• Data modeling, schema design and data partitioning
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD; Agile and test management basics
• Plus: workflow orchestration (Airflow, Data Factory), AI platform exposure, DevOps practices
