Computer Vision Engineer

About the role

Comand AI builds next‑generation command‑and‑control software that operates in real deployments. As a Computer Vision Engineer you will tackle the toughest perception challenges, turning satellite, drone and other sensor data into real‑time operational insight. Your work directly impacts users who rely on accurate outputs in critical situations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and train architectures for object detection, segmentation on satellite and aerial imagery, and classification across complex image types.
• Drive applied research: track state‑of‑the‑art, form hypotheses and iterate quickly.
• Push models to production readiness by optimizing inference speed and robustness under distribution shift.
• Collaborate with data and software engineers to move research into production without loss of performance.
• Engage with end users and domain experts to define what “good” performance means in context.

Required profile

• PhD in AI, deep learning, or computer vision, or 5‑10 years of applied research with a proven track record.
• Strong deep‑learning expertise and solid experience with computer‑vision problems.
• Fluent English and EU citizenship (required for defense contracts).
• Hands‑on experience with Python, Git and PyTorch; ability to explain technical choices and co‑design with product teams.
• Appetite for cross‑functional work and ownership of outcomes beyond model delivery.
