Software Engineer – YAML Experience

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Software Engineer with hands‑on experience in YAML to support AI training pipelines. This fully remote, flexible contract position focuses on creating and maintaining configuration files that drive modern AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Author, review, and maintain YAML files for configuration, data pipelines, and system definitions.
• Ensure YAML structures are accurate, well‑organized, and compliant with required schemas.
• Identify formatting issues, logical inconsistencies, and edge cases in configuration files.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to support reliable system behavior and data quality.
• Apply rigorous attention to detail to prevent errors that could cascade downstream.
• Complete task‑based assignments independently on your own schedule.

Required profile

• 1+ year of professional software engineering experience.
• Comfortable working with YAML in production or data‑driven environments.
• Highly detail‑oriented and able to spot subtle errors.
• Familiar with version‑control workflows such as Git.
• Capable of working independently without extensive supervision.
• Clear and concise written communicator.
