Robotics Field Engineer

About the role

Nio Robotics is seeking a Robotics Field Engineer to join its Early Adopter Program. You will be the primary on‑site contact for customers, deploying, commissioning, and maintaining the Aru mobile robot across France and occasional EU locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop application software for trajectory generation and context‑aware navigation on the Aru platform.
• Perform on‑site deployment, unboxing, commissioning, and first‑mission support for early adopters.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, perception, control, and software issues to keep robot uptime high.
• Train customer operators, create repeatable documentation, and ensure safe robot usage.
• Collect field feedback, report incidents, and convey feature requests to R&D teams.
• Help define and refine the deployment playbook as the program scales.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience deploying, commissioning, or servicing complex robotic or mechatronic systems.
• Generalist engineering background with ability to read schematics, debug software, and perform hands‑on mechanical work.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and ability to restore robots to production quickly.
• Customer‑facing mindset: calm under pressure, clear communicator in both French and English.
• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to travel 30‑50 % of the time across France and occasional EU trips.
