Middle Officer – Guarantees (Corporate Banking)

About the role

We are looking for a Middle Officer to join the Customer Team of the Operations Department at MUFG in Paris. The role supports the Corporate Banking Division across EMEA by processing guarantee requests and other back‑office banking activities while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage market guarantees, financial guarantees and counter‑guarantees for corporate clients across EMEA.
• Process related back‑office tasks such as loans, term deposits, customer profile maintenance and KYC updates.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing operational processes and workflows.
• Participate in cross‑department projects, including new product launches and workflow redesigns.
• Maintain and update internal procedures in line with regulatory or internal changes.
• Monitor the service mailbox and ensure timely handling of requests from Paris and other branches.
• Provide technical support to relationship managers and act as liaison between the London hub‑and‑spoke back‑office, front‑office teams and clients.
• Report incidents promptly to the Department Head and ensure adherence to MUFG and local legal requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in banking operations, preferably within guarantees, loans or KYC processes.
• Strong understanding of internal compliance procedures and relevant financial regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with front‑office, back‑office and external stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude toward process optimisation and project participation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KYC and customer profile maintenance procedures.
