Financial Controller - Plant Opex

About the role

Envision AESC is building a new battery manufacturing plant in Douai, France. The company seeks a senior Cost Controller to support plant operations and the development of a world‑class Gigafactory. The role combines cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis to drive efficiency in a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve purchase requests, proactively identifying cost‑saving opportunities and challenging spending habits.
• Execute monthly cost‑closing procedures independently and prepare managerial reports comparing actuals to budget.
• Act as a business partner to operational teams, leading monthly cost‑review meetings to monitor budget consumption and propose reductions.
• Prepare operating expense budgets and forecasts in line with group instructions and local management requirements.
• Coordinate with global cost‑controlling functions and the FP&A team for management reviews and ad‑hoc reporting.
• Analyze production procedures to uncover opportunities for cost‑KPI optimization.
• Participate in the implementation and optimisation of financial systems and related workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CMA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing expense or cost controlling, preferably in automotive or chemical industries.
• Proven experience with SAP FICO and purchase processes.
• Background in a multinational environment is strongly preferred.
• Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
