Digital Design Engineer

About the role

Join NXP's Caen development centre, a key hub for automotive System‑on‑Chip design. As a Digital Design Engineer you will work with an experienced team to create and verify complex digital IP blocks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital logic designs for SoCs and IP blocks according to architectural specs.
• Write RTL code in Verilog/SystemVerilog and create testbenches for simulation and debugging.
• Perform design verification, synthesis, static timing analysis and formal verification to meet timing, area and power targets.
• Collaborate with architects, analog designers and software teams to define interfaces and integrate blocks.
• Contribute to DFT implementation, generate documentation and take part in design reviews.
• Troubleshoot design issues throughout the development lifecycle and stay updated on industry tools and methodologies.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in digital ASIC/SoC design and full design flow.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Verilog / SystemVerilog RTL coding.
• EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, STA and formal verification.
• Scripting languages such as Python, Perl or Tcl.
• Knowledge of digital design principles, clocking, reset and low‑power techniques.
• Familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet).
