Desktop Support Specialist

About the role

The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for delivering end‑to‑end IT device services across the organisation. You will handle the full lifecycle of desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations and peripherals, ensuring a smooth experience for new joiners, movers and leavers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Deinstall) activities for all IT devices.
• Install, configure and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations and peripherals.
• Deinstall and recover equipment during employee off‑boarding and refresh programmes.
• Execute break‑fix troubleshooting and hardware replacements.
• Provide onsite floor‑walk and TechBar support for end‑user issues.
• Maintain and update asset inventory and CMDB records.
• Support device setup for new joiners and coordinate relocations across sites.
• Conduct post‑installation checks to confirm user readiness.
• Follow security, compliance and organisational IT standards.
• Provide progress updates and keep documentation and reporting up to date.

Required profile

• Experience with desktop hardware installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with IMACD processes and asset lifecycle management.
• Ability to work onsite and interact directly with end‑users.
• Attention to detail and adherence to security and compliance standards.
