Business Strategist – Build Presence in French Defense Market

About the role

Comand AI aims to deliver next‑generation software to European defence forces. We are seeking a Business Strategist to establish and grow our presence in France, identifying entry points, building trusted relationships, and turning operational proof into commercial contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify the right defence units, partners, champions and procurement pathways, and own the journey from first engagement through experimentation, pilot and contract.
• Shape strategic opportunities before formal procurement, positioning Comand AI where operational needs emerge.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships across the defence ecosystem, from operational units to industrial partners and government stakeholders.
• Navigate long, politically sensitive B2G sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, security clearances, RFIs, RFPs and public procurement rules.
• Translate Comand AI’s technical capabilities into language that resonates with procurement officers, general staffs and programme leads.
• Collaborate closely with founders, product and forward‑deployed teams to turn field validation into commercial traction.
• Work with a Europe‑wide team to unlock strategic opportunities with armed forces, partners and defence organisations.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling into armed forces, ministries of defence or other highly regulated B2G markets with long sales cycles.
• Track record of closing two or three large‑size deals personally and being a top performer on your sales team.
• Comfortable building a pipeline and a market from near‑zero without a pre‑existing playbook.
• Technical curiosity and ability to understand complex software products and translate them into operational and commercial value.
• Empathy for military users and their missions.
• EU citizenship (contractual requirement) and fluency in French plus English.
