AI/ML Engineer

About the role

Air Apps is building an AI-powered Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner and is looking for an AI/ML Engineer to design, develop and optimise machine learning models that power its mobile applications. The role works closely with product managers, engineers and designers to build intelligent, data-driven features. It is a fully onsite position at the company's office in Lisbon, with relocation support offered.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, train and optimise machine learning models for mobile app features.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art AI techniques to improve user engagement and app performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven solutions into applications.
• Design and maintain scalable ML pipelines, including model deployment and monitoring.
• Analyse large datasets to derive insights and support data-driven decisions.
• Stay up to date with AI trends and best practices.
• Optimise AI models for mobile environments for high performance and low latency.

Required profile

• Around 4+ years of experience in AI/ML development, preferably in mobile applications.
• Experience deploying and maintaining ML models in production.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch or other ML frameworks.
• Experience with deep learning, NLP, computer vision and statistical modelling.
• Familiarity with cloud-based ML services (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure).
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and software engineering best practices.
