Agriculture Sector Expert – Nigeria NDC 3.0 Implementation & Investment

About the role

The Agriculture Sector Expert will provide government‑validated technical inputs for the agriculture component of Nigeria’s NDC 3.0 Implementation Strategy and Action Plan. The role includes delivering a prioritized, investment‑ready agriculture pipeline and preparing investor‑ready concept notes for three priority projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a screened long‑list and a government‑validated short‑list of agriculture measures.
• Conduct pre‑feasibility and business‑model analyses for selected projects.
• Prepare investor‑ready concept notes and project profiles for three priority agriculture projects.
• Collaborate with the Financial Engineering, Structuring and Modelling Expert to meet investment‑readiness thresholds.
• Support UNEP’s NDC Act & Invest project coordination and liaise with partner organisations.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in agriculture sector analysis and climate‑related policy frameworks.
• Experience with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) implementation and investment pipeline development.
• Ability to work remotely while undertaking missions to Abuja, Nigeria.
• Strong analytical skills and experience delivering feasibility and business‑model studies.
